The young American soprano Lindsay Feldmeth has delighted audiences around the world with her powerful, radiant voice and magnetic charisma. Born in Hollywood, California, she moved to Austria at the age of 20 so that she could study with Horiana Branisteanu at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg. She completed her master's degree (with honors) in opera at the Mozarteum in 2004. After a brief residence in Vienna, she relocated to Italy when she was selected to participate in a young artists' program taught by Mirella Freni and Sergio Bertocchi at the Centro Universale del Bel Canto in Vignola.
She recently sang her first Bohème with Ensemble Orpheus in Florence, where she won rave reviews for her interpretation of Musetta. Her credits at the Mozarteum include Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro, Sandrina in La Finta Giardiniera, Olympia in Les Contes d'Hoffmann, and the title role in Mark Lothar's Momo und die Zeitdiebe. She also appeared as Frasquita in Carmen with Opera Garden and she sang the Queen of the Night in Die Zauberflöte in the Karl-Böhm-Saal of the Salzburger Festspielhaus.
Lindsay enjoys making opera and song literature more accessible to contemporary audiences. She speaks four languages and her witty "introductions to opera" have made her a favorite with tour groups in Italy, where she has performed more than 100 solo recitals for the music society Concerto Classico. She has also given dozens of art song recitals and her sacred repertoire ranges from the baroque to the contemporary. She has been a featured soloist in concerts and worship services throughout the United States, the United Kingdom, Austria, Germany, Italy, Japan and Spain.
Lindsay Feldmeth has recently returned to the United States and is currently based in Los Angeles. Upon her return, she was featured in the Glendale News-Press.
